Duties
Summary
About the position:
This role is a Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) position with the 61st Force Support Squadron, situated at the Outdoor Recreation facility. The position is classified as Flexible, guaranteeing no minimum hours but offering the potential for up to 40 hours weekly. Candidates may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. As a flexible employee, eligibility for leave or benefits is not applicable.
Responsibilities
The Aquatic Safety Coordinator will function as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor, ensuring the safety of all patrons at the facility. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing rescues and administering first aid as necessary, while maintaining compliance with certification standards.
- Conducting swimming lessons for individuals or groups, adhering to established lesson plans.
- Monitoring the swimming area to enforce safety protocols and maintaining order among patrons.
- Regularly inspecting diving boards and slides for safety compliance and reporting any issues promptly.
- Participating in mandatory training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Monitoring chemical levels in the pool and documenting results, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Assisting with the daily operations of the pool, including cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Managing entrance control duties, including fee collection and ensuring authorized access to the pool area.
Environmental Factors: Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to sun and chlorinated water. Physical stamina is required for effective swimming rescues.

Conditions of Employment:
- Completion of a background investigation with favorable results is mandatory.
