Position Overview

The Pathologists' Assistant Department at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is actively seeking a full-time Instructor to contribute to our educational mission. This role emphasizes the importance of education within a simulated laboratory setting, engaging in a variety of responsibilities that support the department's objectives.

About Us

Key Responsibilities

All full-time faculty members at RFUMS are expected to engage in core activities integral to their role, which may include:

  • Teaching and direct instruction
  • Curriculum oversight and management
  • Student assessment
  • Advising and mentoring students

Scholarly activities may encompass:

  • Conducting original research
  • Securing grants
  • Mentoring research projects

Service contributions may involve:

  • Participation in committees
  • Engagement with the professional community
  • Recruitment efforts

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses across departments, participating in various committees at the department, college, and university levels, advising students, engaging with alumni, traveling for site visits as necessary, and contributing to scholarly activities. Additional responsibilities will be assigned to support the department and program as needed.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program
  • ASCP certification
  • Experience in interprofessional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in surgical and autopsy pathology as a practicing Pathologists' Assistant
  • Experience in teaching laboratory environments to diverse learning styles
  • Laboratory management experience
  • Familiarity with online educational learning management systems
