Job Summary:

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Youth Enrichment Instructor to join our team. As a Youth Enrichment Instructor, you will play a key role in providing a safe, supportive, and interactive environment for children in our after school programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating a child-centered environment that promotes learning, character development, and positive relationships.
  • Support the development of leadership skills and confidence in staff and children.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all program participants.
  • Collaborate with program staff to plan and implement engaging activities and programs.
  • Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents to ensure a positive and inclusive program experience.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 17 years of age and/or 5 years older than the oldest child that participates in the program.
  • High School Diploma or GED, along with related college coursework and/or equivalent experience in childcare, education, recreation, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to establish constructive relationships and interact as a positive role model for youth and staff.
  • Commitment to and passion for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago's mission and values.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to tailor communication to multiple audiences.
