Job Overview

Hyatt Place Columbus/OSU is in search of dedicated Front Desk Agents to enhance our exceptional team of hospitality experts.

As a Front Desk Agent, your role will be pivotal in crafting an outstanding guest experience by delivering warm, helpful, and exceptional service. This position offers numerous opportunities to brighten our guests' days and contribute to our high levels of guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Gallery Host Stand, Bakery Café, Guest Kitchen, e-room, TV den, guest check-in and check-out, hotel shuttle van, and meeting room services.
  • Assist guests with check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate registration, address and credit information, balancing cash drawers, and posting charges.
  • Provide exceptional assistance to guests, including luggage handling, coffee service, directions, wake-up calls, and future reservations.
  • Respond to guest and visitor inquiries, coordinating special service requests, and informing guests about hotel amenities and services.
  • Answer hotel phone calls courteously and efficiently, adhering to Hyatt Place standards.
  • Prepare, set up, stock, and clean food and beverage areas, ensuring quality and consistency in service.
  • Familiarize yourself with the operation of the POS system.
  • Assist guests with food orders and serve items in a friendly, professional, and timely manner, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Support the setup, production, and teardown of meeting spaces for social and business events.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment for guests by clearing tables during service.
  • Adhere to Hyatt Place operational policies and procedures, including cash and credit card handling, safety, and security protocols to consistently exceed guest expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and available to work weekends.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong command of the English language, including speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment with constant guest interaction.
  • Must be capable of multitasking effectively.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weights (minimum of 20 lbs).
  • Basic computer skills are necessary, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Prior customer service experience is required, preferably in a hotel or related field.
  • A clean driving record and valid driver's license are preferred.
