Position Overview

The Airport Systems Operations Manager oversees a suite of systems and services that enhance the passenger experience and support airport operations. This includes managing critical applications such as Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), Queue Management Systems (QMS), and Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS). The role involves ensuring seamless integration, ongoing maintenance, and continuous enhancement of these systems while acting as a key liaison between airport stakeholders and technology partners.

Key Responsibilities
Management

  • Foster a culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, enabling all employees to thrive.
  • Supervise contract personnel within the Airport Systems division.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and standards relevant to airport systems.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the area, assessing costs and performance of initiatives.
  • Assist in establishing timelines for major projects.

Operational Duties

  • Collaborate with airport partners to design and implement new systems that meet compliance and functional requirements.
  • Oversee the complete software lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
  • Plan and prioritize the activities of the Airport Systems team to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Lead projects of varying complexity and participate in departmental and airport-wide meetings.
  • Analyze system performance, document issues, and implement solutions to improve service quality.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and advocate for automation across computing platforms.
  • Monitor service trends and prepare reports for various stakeholders.
  • Provide support during emergencies, including availability outside regular hours.

Building Relationships

  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with airport stakeholders for systems support.
  • Lead initiatives that promote digital literacy and enhance training opportunities for airport staff.

Engagement & Support

  • Stay informed about current practices and future trends in airport systems.
  • Represent the Airport IT division in community working groups and committees.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other IT-related tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on relationship-building.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with complex application management and integrations.
  • Strong documentation and research skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a collaborative team setting.

Education

A bachelor's degree is preferred, along with five years of relevant experience in system and application administration, including three years in a managerial role.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000

Work Setting: In-person (onsite)
