Position: Senior Bioinformatics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Bioinformatics Specialist. This role is pivotal in advancing our research initiatives in immunology and related fields.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct intricate bioinformatics analyses of diverse immunological datasets, including but not limited to CyTOF, bulk RNA-seq, CITE-Seq, and scRNA-seq.
  • Provide expert training on bioinformatics methodologies, tools, and applications.
  • Propose and implement innovative strategies to enhance existing analytical models.
  • Lead and mentor a team of bioinformaticians and computational biologists.
  • Oversee the creation and upkeep of bioinformatics pipelines and software solutions.
  • Guide the strategic direction of bioinformatics projects and initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at scientific conferences and workshops, showcasing our research advancements.
  • Establish workflows for comprehensive omics data analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of publication-quality figures for data representation.
  • Perform statistical analyses and contribute to manuscript development for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Develop bioinformatics pipelines utilizing existing tools and frameworks.
  • Independently identify and implement solutions, demonstrating leadership in problem-solving.
  • Execute additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in a relevant field from an accredited institution, or a Master’s degree with three years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with six years of experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related disciplines.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in standard statistical methods and bioinformatics data analysis.
  • Strong skills in R programming and relevant bioinformatics packages.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and effective communication skills.
  • Experience in developing bioinformatics pipelines and utilizing version control systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.

Work Environment:
