Position Overview

The Montgomery County Children's Opportunity Alliance is seeking a proactive and innovative Community Outreach Coordinator to enhance our mission of providing equitable early care and education solutions for families in our community. This role is essential in fostering relationships and driving engagement among diverse stakeholders.

Role Summary

The Community Outreach Coordinator will play a pivotal role in our organization, focusing on community engagement, education, and outreach efforts. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the early childhood education landscape and the challenges faced by underserved families.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive community engagement strategy to build trust with early childhood stakeholders, including families, health professionals, and community leaders.
  • Represent the organization at community events and stakeholder meetings, ensuring a strong presence in the early childhood ecosystem.
  • Stay informed about early childhood education services and resources in Montgomery County to effectively integrate community feedback into organizational strategies.
  • Encourage community participation in initiatives that align with the organization’s goals, including advocacy efforts and working groups.

Outreach and Education:

  • Develop and execute strategies to educate families and the broader community on the significance of high-quality early care and education.
  • Collaborate with partners and vendors to enhance outreach initiatives.
  • Work with the communications team to integrate educational content into various communication channels and expand the organization’s social media presence.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of racial equity, social justice, and community engagement principles.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to attend events outside of regular business hours.
