Transportation Equipment Network Operations Assistant

The Operations Assistant collaborates with clients and company resources to offer timely, quality service and identify any existing issues or areas for improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide prompt, top-notch service to clients and company resources, identifying any issues or opportunities for enhancement.
- Trailer Inspections: Inspect both the interior and exterior of trailers (inbound and outbound) with customers, highlighting hub readings, emergency contact information, and the overall condition of the trailer inside and out.
- Transaction Processing: Complete transactions with accurate rates, outlining rental policies and procedures, validating credit and insurance, and securing customer approval.
- Damage Assessment: Review customers' driver's licenses to verify identification authenticity and CDL license status, and ensure adherence to Star Leasing Co.'s invoicing policies and procedures.
- Service Work Orders: Generate service work order write-ups in Star Leasing's system (Anzio) for trailers requiring maintenance upon arrival at the yard, and provide a copy to the service manager promptly.
- Estimates and Approvals: Provide customers with estimates within 48 hours of the request and receive approval within 96 hours, communicating the approved estimated cost effectively.
- Tire Inventory Management: Conduct daily tire inventory checks and reconciliations as directed by the operations manager, accurately process tire inventory purchase orders, and record Part #'s on each tire.
- Equipment Coordination: Coordinate daily operations of Star Leasing Co. equipment, personnel, tractors, and external vendors used for trailer deliveries and pick-ups, as well as service vehicles for routine and emergency repairs.
- Record Keeping: Maintain records of driver hours and moves for insurance and accounting purposes.
- Operational Efficiency: Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining and repairing all trailers at remote sites, ensuring PM's are up to date at 90%, and upholding various operational efficiencies and benchmarks set by the Operations Manager or Branch Manager.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from a reputable university, or one to two years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business journals, technical procedures, or regulations; ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and manuals; strong communication skills to present information and address inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and the public effectively.
- Physical Requirements: While performing duties, the employee must stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, reach, and communicate effectively; occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl; lift and move objects up to 40 pounds occasionally.
