Position Overview: The Senior NOC Manager will play a pivotal role in the establishment and management of the Network Operations Center, ensuring the integrity, security, and operational efficiency of our network systems. This position demands a strategic leader with substantial technical knowledge and the ability to build and oversee the NOC from inception.
Core Responsibilities:
- NOC Development:
- Design and implement the NOC framework, selecting suitable tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network surveillance, incident management, and escalation processes.
- Network Surveillance and Oversight:
- Supervise continuous assessment of network performance, availability, and security.
- Deploy and manage network monitoring solutions to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Incident Response:
- Lead the detection, analysis, and resolution of network incidents to minimize service interruptions.
- Establish and maintain an incident response strategy, including escalation pathways and communication protocols.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure the implementation of robust network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions.
- Monitor and address security incidents and vulnerabilities to safeguard the network from threats.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and organizational policies.
- Maintenance and Upgrades:
- Plan and execute routine maintenance activities, including software updates, patch management, and hardware enhancements.
- Ensure all systems operate optimally and securely.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of NOC engineers and support personnel.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to keep the team informed of the latest technologies and best practices.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting:
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the performance and efficiency of the NOC.
- Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and other critical metrics for senior management.
- Client Support:
- Assist internal and external users experiencing network-related challenges.
- Communicate effectively with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in network operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Strong technical proficiency in network monitoring, security, troubleshooting, and cloud networking.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are highly regarded.
- Proven experience in establishing and managing a NOC.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
