Job Overview: The Senior NOC Manager is tasked with the establishment and oversight of the Network Operations Center, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our network infrastructure. This position requires a strategic mindset coupled with strong technical acumen and leadership capabilities to build and manage the NOC from inception.

Key Responsibilities:

  • NOC Development:
  • Design and implement the NOC framework, including the selection of suitable tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network surveillance, incident management, and escalation protocols.
  • Network Surveillance and Management:
  • Oversee continuous monitoring of network performance, availability, and security.
  • Implement and manage network monitoring solutions to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Incident Management:
  • Lead the identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of network incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Establish and maintain an incident response strategy, including escalation procedures and communication protocols.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Ensure the deployment of robust network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities to safeguard the network from threats.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and organizational policies.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades:
  • Plan and execute routine maintenance activities, such as software updates, patch management, and hardware enhancements.
  • Ensure all systems operate optimally and securely.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of NOC engineers and support personnel.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to keep the team informed of the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting:
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance and efficiency of the NOC.
  • Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and other key metrics for senior management.
  • Customer Support:
  • Provide assistance to internal and external users facing network-related challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in network operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong technical expertise in network monitoring, security, troubleshooting, and cloud networking.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in establishing and managing a NOC.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
