About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team at American Metals Supply LLC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs
    • Design and enforce safety protocols and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards, such as OSHA and DOT.
    • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Education
    • Lead safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and new hires on topics such as equipment usage, hazard identification, and emergency response.
    • Maintain training records and ensure all employees are up to date with required safety certifications.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting
    • Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
    • Prepare and submit detailed incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and update the organization on any changes.
    • Maintain all required safety documentation, permits, and licenses.
  • Promote a Safety Culture
    • Develop campaigns and initiatives to encourage a proactive safety culture within the company.
    • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety committees to foster employee engagement.
  • Monitor Workplace Conditions
    • Regularly inspect facilities, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
    • Coordinate emergency preparedness and response drills.
  • Collaborate with Leadership
    • Work closely with management to establish safety goals, KPIs, and performance metrics.
    • Provide advice and recommendations on safety improvements and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in occupational health, safety management, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in warehousing & distribution.
    • Experience with safety compliance and regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
  • Certifications
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certification, or similar safety qualifications preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with safety management software and reporting tools.
