About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our team at American Metals Supply LLC. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Design and enforce safety protocols and procedures in compliance with regulatory standards, conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Education: Develop and manage formal safety training for all employees, lead safety training sessions on topics such as equipment usage, hazard identification, and emergency response, and manage forklift training and certification programs.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence, prepare and submit detailed incident reports, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, manage OSHA compliance and documentation, and maintain all required safety documentation, permits, and licenses.
  • Promote a Safety Culture: Develop campaigns and initiatives to encourage a proactive safety culture within the company, conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety committees to foster employee engagement, and monitor workplace conditions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in occupational health, safety management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably in warehousing & distribution, with experience with safety compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA certification, or similar safety qualifications preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices, excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to lead and motivate teams, analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with safety management software and reporting tools.
