Position Title: Strategic Partnerships Manager

Department: Partnerships & Events (Marketing Communications Division)

Reports to: Director of Partnerships & Events

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Strategic Partnerships Manager (SPM) plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth for Visit KC by focusing on acquiring new partners, renewing existing partnerships, and enhancing marketing opportunities. The SPM is responsible for building and maintaining robust relationships with all partners while supporting initiatives that elevate and benefit Visit KC partners.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and maintains new and existing membership sales, ensuring the retention of over 800 member accounts and exploring opportunities for membership tier upgrades.
  • Oversees and drives digital advertising sales, including ad sales for Visit KC publications and related partnership marketing initiatives.
  • Manages the execution of digital advertising orders, which includes creating timelines, gathering creative assets, processing insertion orders, and compiling performance reports.
  • Creates and implements strategies, programs, and special events to effectively convey the advantages of partnering with Visit KC.
  • Coordinates the messaging calendar for partner communications, including emails, web content, and direct mail to inform partners about events, renewal timelines, and educational resources.
  • Engages in community and industry events to promote partnership acquisition, service delivery, and retention.
  • Proactively expands the pool of qualified prospects through business development and strategic partnerships, utilizing in-person meetings, email outreach, video conferences, and phone calls.
  • Evaluates partner benefits packages to identify best practices and optimize partnership levels and advantages.
  • Ensures ongoing and proactive management of partner satisfaction, addressing daily requests from all partner accounts.
  • Actively seeks and manages Media Partner accounts through the execution of advertising orders and ongoing relationship management, including education on regional and local paid media cooperative opportunities.
  • Collaborates closely with the Marketing Communications team on partner communication strategies and directly partners with them on the annual and ongoing marketing cooperative program.
  • Records all interactions with prospects and partners in Visit KC's CRM system.
  • Regularly communicates with the Director of Partnerships & Events regarding any potential service issues or concerns.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in consultative services, sales, or a related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
