POSITION DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Establishing and enforcing operational standards,
  • Ensuring quality assurance and configuration management,
  • Evaluating work quality,
  • Managing project timelines,
  • Communicating organizational goals, objectives, and policies effectively,
  • Overseeing the project development lifecycle from inception to deployment, providing guidance and direction in the following areas:
1. Contributing to the development and execution of project/program management strategies.

The Subcontractor shall ensure alignment of activities with project objectives.

2. Integrating changes into project scope, schedule, cost, earned value management, and overall project environment.

3. Participating in and coordinating project initiation activities.

4. Leading project recovery efforts to maximize potential value from ongoing projects.

5. Assessing and determining whether a troubled project should be salvaged or concluded.

6. Collaborating with management to review project risks and provide status updates.

7. Coordinating team efforts on various projects.

8. Delivering consistent technical and administrative guidance to the Project Controls team regarding project execution and planning.

9. Offering direction, coordination, and evaluation consistently throughout project execution and systems.

10. Supporting operations from the acquisition of new projects through execution and closeout.

11. Developing and implementing baseline changes in accordance with approved change control processes.

12. Ensuring that approved changes are effectively integrated and executed.

13. Providing detailed activity reports to the designated representative, outlining completed and ongoing tasks with each billing cycle.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 10+ years of relevant experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in Project Management/Program Management,
  • Proficient in formulating business strategies for sustaining operational efficiency supported by skilled personnel,
  • Adept at managing multiple complex technical projects and overseeing coordination,
  • Capable of delivering presentations that convey achievements and strategic plans,
  • Skilled in organizing and structuring work processes,
  • Able to collaborate with highly technical teams focused on executing intricate details,
  • Understanding of project logistics,
  • Eligibility to obtain a Q clearance,
  • Willingness to work on-site,
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse work environment,
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including background and drug tests,
  • Commitment to upholding L&A's core values.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience with DOE sites and programs,
  • PMP certification is preferred,
  • Experience in maintaining facilities in high-technology sectors.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Our research center focuses on the creation, diagnosis, and modeling of intense, submicrosecond, repetitive pulses of x-rays and energetic beams for various applications. We are recognized for housing the Z machine, the largest pulsed power machine globally, which plays a crucial role in a science-based stockpile stewardship program aimed at ensuring our nation's nuclear deterrent without underground testing. We collaborate with academic institutions on fundamental scientific research relevant to planetary formation, neutron stars, solar physics, and more. As one of the primary stewards of fast pulsed power expertise, we leverage this knowledge to enhance existing capabilities and develop new technologies for national security.
