POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This role involves overseeing and managing environmental programs to ensure a clean, orderly, and hygienic environment within the designated facility. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Ensure the facility's cleanliness, sanitation, and proper functioning of equipment.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and appearance of all team members.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance in all work areas.
  • Assign and supervise employee work areas to uphold quality standards.
  • Manage the efficient use of supplies and equipment.
  • Address and resolve complaints related to departmental operations.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on the use of equipment and procedures.
  • Participate in the hiring process and make final selections for new team members.
  • Administer disciplinary actions when necessary and execute termination procedures for underperforming employees.
  • Plan and coordinate departmental schedules considering various operational factors.
  • Conduct systematic inspections of completed tasks to ensure quality assurance.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with personnel across departments.
  • Initiate and lead training programs, demonstrating new equipment and methodologies.
  • Regularly inspect the facility to ensure adherence to environmental standards.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Engage in conferences, committees, and programs as required.
  • Monitor the performance of external contractors providing related services.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other departments.
  • Ensure all manuals and training materials are up-to-date and completed promptly.
  • Take corrective actions upon identifying cleanliness issues or material waste.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in Environmental Sciences, Personnel Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Demonstrated initiative and judgment in selecting equipment, developing standards, and training programs.
  • A minimum of three years in environmental services with increasing responsibilities, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk, use hands to handle objects, and communicate effectively. The role may require lifting and moving items up to 25 pounds.
