We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Coordinator to join our team at YU & Associates. As a key member of our environmental/hazardous materials team, you will be responsible for conducting office and field work to ensure compliance with environmental and hazardous materials regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct investigations and sampling of suspect materials in compliance with sampling protocol.
- Monitor projects during asbestos abatement and develop and/or review abatement and remediation plans and specifications.
- Evaluate laboratory results, assess, and delineate the extent of hazmat location areas.
- Assist in developing survey reports, abatement plans, and construction documents for abatement.
- Interact with clients and their representatives to ensure effective communication and project management.
- Work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and NYC regulations on abatement and handling of asbestos, EPA for lead paint, PCBs, mold, and other hazardous materials.
- NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator, NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector and Project Monitor; EPA Lead Inspector; NYSDOL Mold Assessor.
- Ability to work in the office and in the field.
- Quick mobilization for field work if required.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment if working in hazardous conditions.
