Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Property Accountant will oversee the general ledger accounting functions for a portfolio of six to ten properties. This includes:

  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and preparing monthly financial reporting packages.
  • Collaborating with property and regional managers to ensure precise and timely financial execution.
  • Compiling and analyzing financial data for month-end and year-end closing processes, including supporting schedules and work papers.
  • Preparing monthly financial statements and bank reconciliations for the assigned properties.
  • Creating journal entries and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of general ledger activities.
  • Managing cash operations, including applications and reconciliations.
  • Engaging proactively with clients regarding property profitability and addressing inquiries promptly.
  • Assisting the accounting manager in reviewing financial information and statements.
  • Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Facilitating the onboarding of new properties to ensure proper setup and accurate financial reporting.
  • Contributing to the training of new associates as needed.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required, along with:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in an accounting role.
  • At least three years of experience in multifamily property management accounting.
  • Familiarity with Yardi Voyager or similar systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP standards in the multifamily property management sector is advantageous.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • The ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.

Work Environment:
