About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Account Engineer, Property to join our team at Woodruff Sawyer. As a key member of our Property Division, you will be responsible for advocating for clients and building relationships with carrier engineers to identify and reduce risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for clients to identify, prioritize, and reduce risks
  • Help Woodruff Sawyer become the industry's most sought-after professionals in risk management by embodying our vision
  • Advise clients on fire, natural hazard, and machinery breakdown exposures
  • Negotiate with carrier engineers on risk improvement plans, recommendations, and alternatives
  • Perform physical site surveys and collect necessary information for marketing and COPE reports
  • Estimate and determine adequacy of reported values using tools such as Marshall & Swift
  • Advise account service teams on natural hazard exposures and limits

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of property insurance risk engineering experience or property loss control experience
  • Understanding of FM Global, NFPA, or other HPR standards and concepts
  • Ability to travel to California and Oregon about 15-30% of the time, and occasionally elsewhere in the U.S.A, and infrequently overseas
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required

  • Anticipated salary between $86,250 – $140,000, dependent on geography, experience, and expertise
  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program to earn additional compensation with a target equivalent to 10% of salary annually, based on individual and Company performance
