Description
This role is crucial in shaping the guest experience at our esteemed establishment. The Front Desk Agent warmly welcomes and assists guests, visitors, and staff, ensuring a seamless registration and check-out process. The position also involves promoting hotel services and amenities while providing valuable information to enhance the guest's stay.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Exhibit a genuine desire to meet the needs and expectations of guests in a dynamic environment, striving to maximize guest satisfaction.
- Greet all guests and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor, maintaining eye contact and providing prompt assistance.
- Efficiently register guests with reservations and accommodate visitors seeking lodging, ensuring their needs are met.
- Establish accurate accounts for each guest upon check-in, considering their preferences such as room type and payment method.
- Facilitate room changes swiftly and efficiently.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the hotel, including rates, promotions, room configurations, services, amenities, dining options, and the hotel's historical significance.
- Inform guests about local attractions, community events, and points of interest.
- Address guest concerns and special requests promptly, listening empathetically and reporting issues to management to implement effective service recovery strategies.
- Process guest accounts at check-out, adhering to accounting procedures and cash handling policies.
- Respond courteously to inquiries from guests, visitors, and colleagues, providing accurate and helpful information.
- Ensure proper key control and adhere to security protocols.
- Participate in safety and security training, remaining knowledgeable about safety procedures, including emergency protocols.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with guests, management, and coworkers.
- Strong customer service skills with a commitment to guest satisfaction; a personable individual who enjoys public interaction.
- Able to handle guest complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proficient in computer operations, capable of accurately entering information into systems.
- Prior experience in cash handling and basic accounting is preferred.
- Ability to perform efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with hotel facilities and features.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Knowledge of the local area and surrounding communities.
EXPERIENCE:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
