About the Role

This position plays a critical role in supporting the agency's bill process and ensuring timely payments to insurance carriers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing incoming client payments, reconciling insurance company statements, and performing various accounting tasks to maintain the agency's financial health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process check requests to return premiums to clients, overpayments, advances, and commission/return premiums to finance companies.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure client payments are applied to transactions and remitted to insurance carriers by their due date.
  • Reconcile and pay insurance company statements and invoices, confirming payments are accounted for and correctly posted.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office suite, with an aptitude for learning new software and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Three years of experience working in an accounting department.
  • Previous property & casualty insurance experience is ideal.
  • Applied Epic Insurance software experience.
