Job Description

Gridiron IT Solutions LLC is in search of a Cyber Security Architect to enhance a federal initiative.

This position requires a candidate with a robust combination of technical skills, risk evaluation expertise, and effective communication abilities. The ideal candidate will excel in collaborative environments and possess the capability to make pivotal decisions to safeguard the security of the organization's cloud infrastructures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, design, and execute secure cloud strategies and policies that align with client, program, and federal standards.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and project leaders to integrate security and compliance requirements with functional specifications.
  • Establish, contribute to, and uphold secure design frameworks for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects from initial concept through to execution.
  • Demonstrate expertise in threat modeling and articulate the rationale behind architectural and technological decisions through compliance and risk assessments.
  • Work with various teams to identify, rectify, and implement compensating controls within the enterprise's focus areas.
  • Align organizational goals with security and compliance mandates across diverse internal and external teams.
  • Leverage over 7 years of experience in creating secure cloud environments, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to defending enterprise systems, and at least 2 years in threat modeling to inform decision-making processes.
  • Assess new technologies and recommend security solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Operate independently with minimal oversight, showcasing a proactive approach.
  • Guide and mentor team members.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
  • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST 80053, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • Over 7 years of experience in developing secure cloud environments in accordance with federal standards across various cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • At least 3 years of experience in defending enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of compliance frameworks and the ability to make informed decisions based on compliance and risk considerations.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with multiple teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Ability to serve as a security subject matter expert, capable of explaining complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in high-level scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Go, Java).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects.
  • Strong understanding of the NIST framework and its control families.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • Experience with a variety of cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Expertise in industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • Awareness of emerging trends and technologies in cybersecurity.
