Cloud Solutions Architect

TS/SCI Required

ALTA IT Services is seeking a skilled Cloud Solutions Architect to enhance our team dedicated to supporting intelligence customer operations.

The Cloud Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in collaborating with a proficient development team to automate service deployments, enhance system performance, integrate with enterprise authentication frameworks, and establish or refine system monitoring processes. This role also involves upholding established security protocols and providing technical support to clients.

The ideal candidate will thrive in an agile environment, actively participating in scrums and various team meetings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Sustain Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings utilizing RedHat OpenShift.
  • Collaborate with the A&A Team to uphold security standards for system operations.
  • Enhance and maintain existing infrastructure, including autoscaling, supporting new services, and optimizing for cost efficiency and search capabilities.
  • Create comprehensive documentation.
  • Manage systems within an AWS environment, leveraging EC2, S3, ELB, and RDS.
  • Oversee systems in a VMware vSphere environment, utilizing NSX and NetApp StorageGRID.
  • Automate and streamline service deployments.

Qualifications for Success:
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with eligibility for CI Poly.

Essential Skills:
  • Experience in developing and managing Platform as a Service offerings through cloud providers.
  • Proficient understanding of RHEL/CentOS Linux distributions.
  • Strong familiarity with RedHat OpenShift and/or other Kubernetes distributions.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Solid knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience in task automation using scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Perl.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Understanding of DevOps processes and Continuous Integration tools, including GitLab, Jenkins, and Nexus.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience managing production RedHat OpenShift clusters.
  • Strong understanding of cloud APIs and AWS/CLI interactions.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt, or Terraform.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, Ruby, or Java.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, including VMware.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development.

Desired Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
  • RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 8 years of IT experience.
  • 8 years of experience with Platform as a Service offerings via cloud providers.
