By anchoring thermal models to empirical test data, you will provide recommendations for design modifications and future testing strategies. Your technical proficiency, leadership abilities, and commitment to quality will significantly influence the safety of human spaceflight.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program.
- Contribute to the development of the Lunar Transportation system aimed at returning humans to the Moon and establishing a permanent human presence beyond Earth.
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of experience in turbomachinery thermal and fluid analysis using ANSYS.
- Strong foundation in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamic principles.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to foster trust and maintain professional relationships while promoting an inclusive culture.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with external stakeholders.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or legally admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Willingness to work on-site with occasional travel.
- M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with cryogenic systems and electric motor-driven pumps.
- Familiarity with all phases of the turbomachinery lifecycle in flight vehicle applications.
- Experience in engineering analysis related to Non-Conformance (NC) issues concerning turbomachinery components.
Compensation ranges vary by location and will be discussed during the interview process.
Inclusivity Statement:At Blue Origin, we value diversity and are dedicated to building an inclusive workplace. If you are enthusiastic about this role but do not meet every single qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be the right fit for this or other positions.
Benefits:We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and an Education Support Program.
