About the Role

This position is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our orthopedic team at Foundation Health, LLC. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical processes and providing a positive experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams and treatments by taking vital signs, recording symptoms, and documenting chief complaints.
  • Assist providers with exams and minor procedures, including taking blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, and performing EKGs.
  • Coordinate and manage patient care, including pre-certifications, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of patients.
  • Communicate test results to patients and act as a resource to clinicians to provide optimal patient care.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
  • Provide clerical support with patient notifications and documentation, including completing medical records, labs, authorizations, X-Rays, and hospital records.
  • Maintain a clean and functional environment, including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas.
  • Order supplies and stock patient care areas, monitoring inventory and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Registration is required.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent healthcare experience preferred.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
