Foundation Health, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our clinicians and nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for exams and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms, and other necessary measurements and recording chief compliant.
- Document pain scores as appropriate and report any changes in patient condition to the clinician.
- Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures, and act as a chaperone as needed.
- Use universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed.
- Prioritize patient flow through the clinical process.
- Act as a resource to clinicians to provide optimal patient care.
- Provide clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation, including completing medical records, labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records, and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit.
- Schedule and re-schedule patients as necessary, and confirm patient appointments for the following days.
- Maintain a clean, functional environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas.
- Order supplies and stock patient care areas, and monitor inventory including medication/injectables and immunizations.
- Develop and maintain an effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Knowledge normally obtained through a medical terminology course.
- Must be willing to complete medical terminology course within the first six (6) months of hire if not previously completed.
- Excellent organizational skills, effective human relations, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, computer literacy, and keyboarding skills.
- Certified Nursing Assistant experience.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
