Job Title: Director of Development and Philanthropy

At New York University, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development and Philanthropy to join our team. As a key member of our University Development and Alumni Relations department, you will play a critical role in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies to support the University's strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of raising 6-7 figure gifts annually and maintaining a balanced portfolio of high-net-worth prospects. You will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies, managing a team of major gift officers, and partnering with leadership to identify territories and create a culture of donor-centric fundraising.

We are looking for a collaborative and results-driven individual who is passionate about philanthropy and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute successful fundraising strategies to support the University's strategic goals
  • Maintain a balanced portfolio of high-net-worth prospects and raise 6-7 figure gifts annually
  • Manage a team of major gift officers and provide guidance and support to ensure their success
  • Partner with leadership to identify territories and create a culture of donor-centric fundraising
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and university leadership
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of relevant fundraising experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and collaborate with others
  • Working knowledge of various software applications
  • Ability to travel nationally
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or completion of a fundraising certificate program
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, intellectual curiosity, and interest in topics related to the University's funding priorities
