Job Description

Job Summary:

The Programs Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Director of Programs and the overall functioning of the San Francisco Suicide Prevention team. This position is responsible for maintaining office operations, ensuring a smooth workflow, and providing administrative support to program staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain office systems and procedures to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
  • Assist the Director of Programs with various tasks and projects, including administrative support and special initiatives.
  • Engage with program staff to provide administrative support and facilitate collaboration.
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory levels.
  • Maintain office equipment and communicate with vendors for repairs.
  • Implement a culture of teamwork, mentorship, and accountability to enhance staff engagement and commitment.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and community partners.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Programs or Leadership Team staff.
  • Fulfill day shifts for the SFSP Crisis Hotline as needed.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Successful completion of SFSP volunteer training or equivalent.
  • Experience in a non-profit agency environment.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work individually.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including data entry and writing clear and accurate reports.

  • Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000 Annually (DOE)
