Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to classify, review, and analyze financial records; generate related financial reports and statements for management; and manage less complex elements of the accounting function.
  • Conduct general accounting tasks, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and capital expenditure schedules.
  • Prepare, document, analyze, and report accounting transactions while ensuring the integrity of financial records for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to accepted accounting standards.
  • Provide financial assistance, including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing discrepancies from budget expectations.
  • Analyze and prepare statutory accounts, financial statements, and reports.
  • Assist in the documentation of accounting projects.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned.
  • Exhibit behaviors that align with the company's core purpose; ensure guests and team members receive the highest level of support.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
  • Support store operations in recovering losses from bad checks.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Lawson or general ledger (GL) accounting software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving, conflict management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey financial principles and practices to non-financial team members.
  • Travel is required less than 5% of the time.
