Position Overview:

Barrios Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer - Pressurized Lunar Rover to support our ongoing projects in the aerospace sector. This role involves conducting structural dynamic analysis on spacecraft as part of various NASA human spaceflight initiatives.

The selected candidate will lead a team of structural dynamics engineers, contributing to programs such as Orion, Gateway, and the Human Landing System. With over four decades of experience in delivering innovative integration solutions, Barrios Technology is committed to fostering professional growth while ensuring a balanced work-life environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to create Systems Engineering & Integration deliverables for the NASA Extravehicular Activity (EVA) and Human Surface Mobility (HSM) Program.
  • Review engineering outputs, including design reference missions and integration plans for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
  • Oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of program requirements, including Project Technical Requirements Specification (PTRS) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Utilize requirements management software and systems engineering tools effectively.
  • Prepare documentation for system life cycle phases, including System Readiness Review (SRR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).
  • Identify and assess risks, developing appropriate risk statements and response strategies.
  • Conduct system-level architecture trade studies and analyses to influence overall design and performance.
  • Maintain professional relationships with NASA clients and other contractors.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

This position is available at multiple levels, and candidates will be considered based on their experience and qualifications.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with five years of related experience may be considered.
  • Advanced degrees in Engineering may be preferred for candidates with ten to fifteen years of experience.
  • Proficient understanding of space hardware concepts, including mechanical and electrical system design.
  • Expertise in systems engineering principles and documentation.
  • Experience in developing test campaigns for flight certification.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with space systems requirements documentation, including PTRS and Verification and Validation documents.
  • Knowledge of NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle and Engineering processes.
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving project demands across various mission phases.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required, along with the ability to pass a government background investigation.
  • Compliance with drug-free workplace policies is mandatory.
  • Willingness to work outside normal hours and travel as needed.
