About the Role

The Purchasing Support Associate plays a vital role in supporting our Purchasing operations, ensuring that we maintain an efficient and accurate purchasing process for our seafood distribution business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter purchase orders into the company's Purchasing system with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Process and track purchase orders throughout the Purchasing cycle
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any discrepancies
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor information in the Purchasing database
  • Assist in reconciling received goods against purchase orders
  • Generate reports on Purchasing activities as required
  • Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and alerting appropriate personnel of low stock situations
  • Assist in resolving any discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and received goods
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth Purchasing processes
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for Purchasing documentation
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Previous experience in Purchasing or a related role
  • Familiarity with seafood industry terminology and products
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles
Work Environment

The Purchasing Support Associate will work in an office setting with standard office equipment. Occasional visits to warehouse or storage areas may be required.
