Job Overview

Position Title: Senior Process Engineer
Reports To: Plant Manager
Classification: Exempt

Core Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, the Senior Process Engineer is responsible for orchestrating the technical design and engineering execution of various projects. This role demands a deep understanding of manufacturing methodologies related to electronic devices, particularly focusing on the potting process. A Six Sigma Black Belt certification is essential for driving process enhancements and achieving operational excellence.

Key Duties:

  • Installation & Maintenance: Supervise the setup, qualification, troubleshooting, and preventive upkeep of process machinery.
  • Process Optimization: Enhance and oversee the potting process to ensure peak performance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track equipment metrics such as MTTR, MTBF, OEE, and CPK to maintain them within targeted performance thresholds.
  • New Product Introduction: Assist in NPI initiatives and ensure that established milestones are achieved.
  • Training & Development: Provide comprehensive training to technicians and technical operators.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain process and user requirement documentation.
  • Process Enhancement: Conduct gap analyses on process yield tracking and implement necessary improvements.
  • Spare Parts Oversight: Manage and control process-related spare parts.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Direct Reports: Team of Engineers

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field or related discipline.
  • Experience: At least five (5) years of experience as a process engineer in hardware manufacturing, with proven expertise in potting processes.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt certification is mandatory.
  • Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, teamwork orientation, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to a zero-defect mindset.

Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience with 2-Glue Potting Machine (Brand: Nordson).
  • Proven success in SLIM manufacturing practices.
  • Successful design and implementation of process automation.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical design documentation.

Typical Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Primarily works on the production floor.
  • Physical Demands: Requires long periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs.).
  • PPE: Use of personal protective equipment as required.
  • Travel: May involve travel.
