Burns & McDonnell's rapidly growing Mid-Atlantic Water Practice is seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key technical resource and project leader, you will be responsible for leading the design of water and wastewater projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design of water and wastewater projects, ensuring they meet project needs and requirements.
- Direct and coordinate water/wastewater design activities of several disciplines, including engineers and technicians.
- Work with a multi-discipline team to design municipal and federal water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Apply conventional and advanced treatment technologies to solve complex treatment challenges.
- Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications.
- Build effective relationships with clients, customers, and contractors to develop new business opportunities.
- Participate in sales and marketing efforts to identify key pursuits.
- Lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve financial performance targets.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
- Comply with company and site safety policies.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Master of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering a plus.
- Seven (7) years (12 years preferred) civil engineering experience; water/wastewater engineering experience strongly preferred.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) is strongly preferred.
- Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and process simulation software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to travel.
