Salary: 85-90k/year DOE

SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles to oversee critical balance sheet accounts and evaluate financial data through various tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the month-end closing process by reviewing journal entries and documentation prepared by junior accountants, ensuring precision and offering guidance as necessary.
  • Preparing journal entries and reconciliations for designated accounts during the month-end close.
  • Enhancing existing accounting workflows by identifying areas for improvement and suggesting effective solutions.
  • Assisting in the resolution of intricate accounting challenges.
  • Creating, reviewing, and distributing financial reports utilizing Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Analyzing financial data and trends to confirm accuracy and recommending corrective journal entries when needed.
  • Managing the Concur Expense system and overseeing all related reporting and accrual requirements.
  • Understanding the accounting functionalities of the ERP system (Infor M3) and aiding in its maintenance or modifications as required.
  • Collecting data and submitting filings for annual U.S. census reports.
  • Supporting special projects as necessary.
  • Providing assistance to external auditors during the annual company audit.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; five years of experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills and intermediate to advanced Access skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage several abstract and concrete variables.
