About the Role

Terracon is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary consulting firm, you will be responsible for performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Field Testing and Inspection: Conduct field testing and inspection of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel, to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Communication and Documentation: Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors to discuss project requirements, testing, and inspection results.
  • Sample Transportation and Analysis: Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, and tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in written and digital reports.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Safety: Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas, and adhere to strict safety standards.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist higher-level technicians with complex tasks, and provide support to project managers and other personnel as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent in training and related experience.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel, and certifications in one or more of the following areas: ACI, NICET, ICC, AWS, or ASNT.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history, and successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
