About the Role

HDR is seeking a Construction Oversight Specialist to observe water and wastewater utility construction activities. The Construction Oversight Specialist will be responsible for ensuring construction adheres to the established contract specifications. On a daily basis, they will:

  • Collaborate closely with the HDR Project Manager.
  • Maintain meticulous records of construction site conditions and activities, including significant events, issues, or problems, as well as communications between parties involved.
  • Capture construction progress through photographs and organize them for future reference.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on the Contractor's progress, quality, schedule adherence, and budget status.
  • Review Contractor pay requests, including stored materials.
  • Work with the HDR Project Manager to evaluate project schedules and generate status reports.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and regular construction progress meetings with the Owner and the Contractor.
  • Possess a strong understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
  • Perform additional duties that may involve overseeing various aspects of the construction process.
