We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at SouthEnd Exteriors, a leading provider of siding and roofing services for home builders. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate estimates of materials needed for residential home construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate the quantity of materials required for siding, roofing, gutters, and decking projects, adhering to company policies and local building codes.
- Collaborate with Account Coordinators to ensure accurate customer orders and materials lists.
- Review actual vs. estimated materials on project completion to identify areas for improvement.
- Comply with our attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- Verify builder purchase orders against internal pricing sheets and specifications for multiple markets.
- Identify and correct variations in local-specific plans versus bid plans, notifying the Estimating Manager and Senior Estimator as needed.
- Assist in obtaining and reviewing plan changes on items from builders after contract award.
- Approve materials and place orders as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by location management.
- Minimum education: Technical degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum experience: 2 or more years of construction and building materials-related experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials.
- Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based networked computer systems and specialized software application programs.
- Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
- Sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, bending, or stooping, and lifting up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
