A leading global manufacturing organization is in search of a skilled IT Support Specialist to assist in the operations of their technical facilities.

This role involves contributing to a project aimed at implementing network security solutions within their Laboratory and Research & Development settings. The selected candidate will be tasked with overseeing the transition of end-user computing systems to the Connected Labs framework.

Collaboration with fellow technicians and end users will be essential during this transition, focusing on scheduling, maintenance, and ongoing support.

Additionally, the individual will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive documentation related to computer inventory, troubleshooting issues, and documenting resolutions.

This position is a contract role lasting approximately 2-3 months, requiring full-time onsite presence.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure laboratory and analytical computers for the new operational environment:
  • Establish physical connections to security appliances
  • Set up IP addresses
  • Map network drives as necessary
  • Add or update links to external network resources
  • Create local user accounts and manage group assignments
  • Configure remote desktop settings
  • Facilitate profile and data migration as required
  • Conduct testing and validation of computer functionality

Qualifications:
  • Experience in desktop/IT support within laboratory or R&D environments
  • Familiarity with network security appliances
  • Knowledge of integrated server and desktop applications
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT support experience (end-user, desktop)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems: Windows XP/7 & Windows 10
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong hardware support capabilities (PCs, printers, scanners)
  • Basic understanding of network support and maintenance
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Outstanding customer support abilities and capacity to engage with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to work independently when necessary
