Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Safety Officer I to join our team at Southcoast Health System. As a Public Safety Officer I, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide security services to protect hospital assets and information
  • Guard against fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry to hospital grounds and buildings
  • Control access points and manage visitor traffic
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents in a professional and timely manner
  • Collaborate with hospital staff and law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe and secure environment
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, associate's degree preferred
  • Prior military, security, corrections, police, or relevant experience a plus
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain Special Police/Constable powers within a designated municipality
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) De-Escalation Training; OC Pepper (OCAT), Handcuffing (PATH), Baton (PPBT) education and training within 120 days of hire
  • BLS, CPR, and First Responder certification required within 120 days of hire
