Senior Container Engineer (RedHat OpenShift)

The Senior Container Engineer will collaborate with a development team to automate service deployments, enhance system performance, integrate with enterprise authentication solutions, establish and refine system monitoring, uphold security protocols, and deliver technical support to clients. This role will be embedded within an agile framework, engaging in scrums and various team meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Sustain a Platform as a Service Offering utilizing RedHat OpenShift
  • Collaborate with the A&A Team to uphold security standards for system operations
  • Enhance and maintain existing infrastructure, including autoscaling, supporting new services, and optimizing for cost efficiency/authentication/search, etc.
  • Create comprehensive documentation
  • Manage Systems in an AWS environment utilizing EC2, S3, ELB, and RDS
  • Oversee Systems in a VMware vSphere environment, employing NSX and NetApp StorageGRID
  • Automate and streamline service deployments
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • 5+ years of experience in IT
  • 5+ years of experience with Platform as a Service offerings, such as RedHat OpenShift, Tanzu, etc.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience in building and maintaining Platform as a Service offerings through Cloud providers
  • In-depth knowledge of RHEL/CentOS Linux distributions
  • Proficient understanding of RedHat OpenShift and/or other Kubernetes distributions
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker
  • Strong expertise in Amazon Web Services
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience in automating tasks using scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Perl
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Familiarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools
  • Effective communication skills
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience managing production RedHat OpenShift clusters
  • Strong grasp of cloud APIs and interaction with AWS/CLI
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt, or Terraform
  • Experience with programming languages like Python, Ruby, or Java
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development
Preferred Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • RedHat Certified OpenShift Administrator
