The FDA Digital Services Center delivers PaaS and SaaS solutions to the FDA and its offices, focusing on modernizing software quality and providing hosted services. The DSC collaborates with multiple vendors to host applications and create a platform that adheres to industry best practices and standards. The DSC team is responsible for supporting both Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities as well as Development and Modernization (DM&E) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement top-tier cloud solutions in AWS utilizing infrastructure as code.
- Configure, deploy, and manage various AWS services.
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders across application development, networking, infrastructure, information security, and risk management.
- Facilitate and enhance the automation of application and infrastructure environments.
- Contribute to a team effort in building cloud infrastructure, with knowledge of AMI, Containers, and serverless functions.
- Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for feature delivery, fixes, and system updates across development, integration, and production environments.
- Establish, integrate, and maintain a robust set of CI/CD tools to support development, testing, and security scanning.
- Utilize Amazon CloudWatch, ELK, and Splunk for continuous monitoring, tracking system performance, application errors, and metrics.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical operational needs, proposing CI/CD pipelines with appropriate tools.
- Make a significant impact as part of a small, innovative team.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder.
- Residence in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in establishing Jenkins-based CI/CD pipelines with open-source plugin integration.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Agile, and Scrum environments.
- 3+ years of experience with tools such as Jenkins, Gradle, Maven, Ansible, and related Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with configuration management and automation tools in AWS environments.
- 3+ years of experience managing infrastructure and applications in AWS.
- 2+ years of experience in automating Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes.
- 2+ years of experience writing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- 2+ years of experience with key AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and RDS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing automated monitoring systems for dashboards and real-time metrics using tools like Splunk.
- Knowledge of multi-account architecture and tools such as AWS Control Tower.
- Broad technology experience, including cloud architecture, migrations, application development, and security.
- AWS Solution Architect certification (Associate or Professional).
- Familiarity with standards such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRamp.
- Understanding of MLOps and machine learning tools.
