Principal Cloud Security Architect at Fannie Mae

Are you ready to take a pivotal role in defining the future of cloud security architecture? Fannie Mae is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Principal Cloud Security Architect. In this role, you will have the chance to advise management on the development of processes and protocols, design and implement technological frameworks, and maintain existing systems while ensuring security and compliance.

Your Impact
  • Collaborate closely with major public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP to establish secure design frameworks.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architects and Application Development teams to formulate Security Architecture for applications transitioning to the Cloud.
  • Convert functional requirements into technical solutions and guide teams toward successful outcomes.
  • Ensure that solutions adhere to enterprise security standards in both off-premises and hybrid environments.
Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in Cyber Security or Cloud Security Architecture.
  • Recognized industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSK, among others.
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS and IT security risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication, proactive problem-solving, and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design security architectures for applications moving to the Cloud.
  • Promote the adoption of cloud security standards and best practices.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders on security-related matters.
  • Educate architects on secure design principles and best practices.
  • Conduct threat modeling and update security architecture as necessary.
  • Assist application development teams with security implementations.
Essential Skills
  • Expertise in Information Security capabilities and NIST frameworks.
  • Ability to influence technical capabilities to effectively apply security policies.
  • Establish compliance strategies for infrastructure and application security.
  • Architect cloud-native infrastructure utilizing containerization.
  • Plan and document design methodologies for technology optimization.
Tools and Technologies
  • Proficient in containerization, AWS, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with programming languages and ITSM tools.
  • Familiarity with CICD Tools, virtualization software, and API development.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience in cloud-agnostic security architecture.
  • Knowledge of container and API security architectures.
  • Background in security engineering and administration.
  • Skills in risk assessment, relationship management, and cloud computing.
  • Experience in influencing and negotiating within a business context.
