Position: Assistant Branch Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Operations

Reports To: Branch Manager


Objective: Oversee branch personnel by ensuring effective execution of their designated responsibilities, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of all branch operations. Foster positive employee relations and enhance morale. Support team members in delivering exceptional service to clients in alignment with the credit union's core principles and service commitments.

  • Mentor and motivate colleagues to cultivate a supportive workplace atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate adherence to established protocols for Personal Bankers and New Account Opening procedures.
  • Assist in conducting weekly evaluations for Teller performance.
  • Address members' financial requirements and execute account transactions with precision.
  • Proactively manage member relationships, serving as their primary contact and advocate throughout the lending journey.
  • Engage with new members, providing education and recommending beneficial products and services.
  • Assess credit applications, identifying opportunities to optimize member experiences with Arbor's offerings.
  • Manage member accounts, ensuring timely updates and closures as necessary.
  • Analyze credit reports and authorize credit union services within defined limits.
  • Conduct quarterly one-on-one sessions with tellers, ensuring branch manager's approval and proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with the branch manager to organize weekly coaching and development meetings for teller staff.
  • Act as a backup for the branch manager, ensuring timely approval of timecards.
  • Oversee branch security protocols, including emergency procedures.
  • Assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the branch manager.
  • Assist in monitoring branch cash levels and ensure accurate balancing of branch operations.
  • Coordinate branch and teller audits with relevant personnel.
  • Facilitate branch meetings.
  • Maintain a Book of Business for Arbor Loyalty Members, ensuring regular communication to strengthen relationships through innovative financial solutions.
  • Respond to phone inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring smooth call transfers.
  • Keep abreast of the credit union's products and services.
  • Ensure staff comprehension and compliance with current and new policies and procedures through meetings and training sessions.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards to protect member and credit union information.
  • Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act, including accurate completion of required reports and identification of high-risk accounts.
  • Embody the credit union's core values and service commitments.
  • Follow Arbor Financial Credit Union's attendance policies.
  • Punctually attend work and meetings.
  • Complete tasks within designated timelines.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of college coursework or equivalent experience is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a similar or related role.
  • Experience in cash handling.
  • Background in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Experience in service and sales is advantageous.
