Position: Assistant Branch Manager

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Operations

Supervisor: Branch Manager


Objective: To guide branch personnel by enhancing the effective execution of their individual responsibilities, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of all branch operations. Foster a positive work environment and employee engagement. Support team members in delivering exceptional service to clients, in alignment with the credit union's core principles and service commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate leadership by consciously influencing the actions of others
  • Establish and promote a professional image of oneself and the credit union
  • Mentor and motivate colleagues to cultivate a supportive workplace
  • Model adherence to established procedures for Personal Bankers and New Account Opening
  • Assist in conducting weekly assessments for Teller performance
  • Address members' financial requirements and execute account transactions with precision
  • Proactively manage member relationships, serving as their primary contact throughout the lending journey
  • Engage with new members, providing education and recommending beneficial products and services
  • Evaluate credit applications, identifying opportunities to enhance member value through Arbor's offerings
  • Manage member accounts, ensuring accurate maintenance and closure when necessary
  • Analyze credit reports and authorize services within designated limits
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews with tellers, securing branch manager approval prior to discussions
  • Collaborate with the branch manager to organize weekly training sessions for teller staff
  • Act as a backup for the branch manager, ensuring timely approval of time cards
  • Oversee all security protocols for the branch, including emergency procedures
  • Assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the branch manager
  • Assist in monitoring branch cash levels and ensure accurate reconciliation of branch and teller transactions
  • Coordinate branch and teller audits with relevant personnel
  • Facilitate branch meetings
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio for Arbor Loyalty Members, ensuring regular engagement and offering innovative financial solutions
  • Handle phone inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring smooth communication
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the credit union's products and services
  • Support staff in understanding and adhering to current policies and procedures through training and meetings
  • Uphold confidentiality to protect member and credit union information
  • Comply with all credit union policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Adhere to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act requirements, including accurate reporting and identification processes
  • Exemplify the credit union's core values and service standards
  • Follow Arbor Financial Credit Union's attendance guidelines
  • Punctually attend work and meetings
  • Complete tasks within designated timelines

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Relevant college coursework or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Three to five years in a related field
  • Cash handling experience is essential
  • Background in the financial services industry is preferred
  • Sales and service experience is advantageous
