Position Overview

HDR Engineering is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Pipeline Engineering and Condition Assessment Project Manager to enhance our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of complex water and wastewater pipeline condition assessment projects. You will also play a crucial role in client management and the growth of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, focusing on HDR's expertise in pipeline condition assessment, rehabilitation, and repair.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
  • Manage all aspects of large and medium-sized projects characterized by significant technical complexity.
  • Simultaneously oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of all deliverables.
  • Engage in marketing, contractual discussions, and design meetings to establish and maintain client relations.
  • Facilitate work sessions for deliverable development with team members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and manage workloads throughout the project lifecycle to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Monitor financial performance of projects, adjusting work efforts as necessary to adhere to budget and schedule.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Operational leadership for regular project reviews.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Guide and mentor junior project managers and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 12 years of experience in designing large-scale water and wastewater projects.
  • Possession of a Texas Professional Engineering (PE) License or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • Demonstrated client and project management capabilities.
  • Experience in water/wastewater pipeline condition assessment design.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to expanding our pipeline condition assessment practice.
  • Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project; Access experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
