Job Summary

The Structural Project Manager / Senior Structural Project Engineer will report to an assigned Senior Project Manager in the Structural department at Raymond L Goodson Jr Inc.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver assigned projects on time and within budget.
  • Work on multiple assignments with overlapping schedules and multi-task to accomplish all tasks.
Key Accountabilities
  • Supervise and delegate work to teammates as needed.
  • Perform engineering tasks under minimal supervision and solve engineering problems using experience, judgment, and education.
  • Master concepts of the company's standards and design practices and assist in the development of Project Engineers.
  • Master design and drafting software to create engineering documents.
  • Attend site visits prior to beginning design and through construction completion.
  • Prepare a full set of construction documents for supervisor to review with limited supervision.
  • Attend client meetings for assigned projects and develop relationships with clients and design team.
  • Attend review meetings with clients, consultants, and/or city staff and become familiar with plan coordination process.
  • Prepare and/or modify technical reports and specifications.
  • Establish themselves as a leader within the team.
Requirements
  • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to teach and train other staff members.
  • Strong Communication skills, both in person and in writing.
  • Strong Comprehension skills, both in person and writing.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Architectural, or other related engineering field required.
  • PE License.
  • Experience with Master Design and drafting software.
  • A general knowledge of code and permitting requirements for projects.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Occasional travel to project sites with potential exposure to uneven terrain and hot and cold weather.
