Job Description

Overview:

Amalgamated Sugar, a leading player in the food production industry, is seeking a proficient and dedicated Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team in Twin Falls. The Electrical Systems Specialist role is central to our operations, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and configuration of electrical fixtures and equipment. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the smooth running of our production processes, directly impacting the quality of our end product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and Maintain Electrical Systems: Plan layout and install wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepare and Follow Blueprints: Prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follow diagrams and blueprints prepared by others, ensuring concealed wiring is installed before the completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Electrical Conduit Installation: Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
  • Wire Routing and Installation: Route and install wiring inside and outside the factory.
  • Wire Splicing and Connection: Splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps. Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, and install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
  • Power Cable Connection: Connect power cables to equipment such as pumps or motors.
  • Test and Ensure Compatibility: Test circuit continuity using instruments such as ohmmeters, batteries, buzzers, and oscilloscopes to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of all components.
  • Maintain High Voltage Equipment: Maintain and repair generators, motors, transformers, and other high voltage equipment.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate orally and in writing, understanding and following company policies, safety, and environmental requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Journeyman Electrician License
  • Must have 2+ years of manufacturing or industrial electrical experience
  • High voltage experience
  • Reliability, motor analysis or vibration analysis experience a plus
  • Highschool or GED required
