Job Overview

TLS Management Inc, a federal contracting organization specializing in JCI Building Automation Systems (BAS), is seeking several BAS Technicians/Applications Specialists. These roles are available in various healthcare facilities and may involve travel to different job sites across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting HVAC Controls products from brands such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Delta, Distech, Carrier, ALC, and/or Andover is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with BAS communication protocols, including BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, N2, P1, Modbus, and/or LON.
  • Ensure compliance with all TLS and customer safety standards, providing leadership and guidance on safety practices to all technicians and subcontractors on job sites.
  • Assist the Service Manager or Customer Service Agents in identifying and scheduling qualified personnel for repairs or installations.
  • Engage in self-directed learning (reading, research, and practice) to enhance and maintain technical skills.
  • Complete all required training and certifications in a timely manner.
  • Install and inspect equipment to ensure adherence to contract specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Manage assigned Electronic Systems service calls, including estimating field labor hours.
  • Interpret complex building architectural, electrical documents, and mechanical drawings, along with project plans, specifications, schedules, and equipment manuals.
  • Pass a criminal background check, pre and post-employment drug screenings, and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean DMV record.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation and servicing of Direct Digital Controls (DDC) BAS systems, with knowledge of servers and various operating systems. Proficiency in personal computers (Windows 10, Server 2016) and MS Office software is essential. Familiarity with Local Area Networks (LAN) systems is also required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to work overtime or travel as needed.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic systems, including relays, motor contactors, transformers, DCV circuits, and ACV circuits.
  • Experience using hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment such as multi-meters, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, and communication devices.
  • Capability to lift and move equipment/tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Work may require climbing ladders and scaffolding, as well as performing tasks at heights in confined spaces such as ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
  • Maintain a professional and calm demeanor during service emergencies.
  • Possess one or more of the following certifications:
    • Certified JCI Metasys Technician
    • Certified Niagara Technician

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Electronics or HVAC technical coursework is preferred.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Niagara programming, Metasys, and/or Johnson CCT programming applications is a plus.

Compensation: $40 - $55 per hour
