Summary
The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician is accountable for conducting bioanalytical quality assessments within the Quality Information Management System (QIMS) and SAP framework. This role involves contributing to Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations as necessary, overseeing and validating testing events, managing product and testing inventories, and ensuring compliance with quality protocols. The technician operates with a degree of autonomy, serving as a primary contact for laboratory-related inquiries and assisting with scheduling as needed. The individual will also provide expertise in their specific certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and uphold the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
- Conduct quality assessments in a dynamic laboratory setting, holding multiple relevant certifications.
- Utilize various bioanalytical methods, including HPLC, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and ELISA.
- Investigate any standard testing deviations and manage quality records.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team and with management.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation and records.
- Engage in product and process enhancement initiatives, monitor testing performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee relevant computer systems and ensure they are updated as needed.
- Support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), while staying informed about industry standards.
- Share knowledge of quality practices with team members.
- Participate in required training and development activities.
- Ensure proper storage of samples and documentation.
- Contribute to laboratory safety initiatives.
Position Accountability
- Execute daily testing in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Identify and report any potential non-conformances to quality professionals.
- Collaborate closely with technical support teams.
- Perform tasks as directed by quality management.
- Apply appropriate corrective actions with guidance from quality experts.
- Support relevant quality assurance activities.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on laboratory certifications.
- Possess basic computer proficiency.
Educational Requirements
A bachelor's or master's degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline, accompanied by 2-3 years of relevant experience.
