Job Summary

The Baltimore City Public School System is seeking a highly skilled Audiologist to provide audiological services to students in assigned schools. The successful candidate will conduct formal assessments, design programs, and provide consultation to staff and parents to ensure students receive the necessary support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer audiological assessments, interpret results, and provide written reports to inform instruction and intervention.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic and instructional interventions for students with hearing impairments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, IEP team members, and other school personnel to adapt curriculum and classroom practices to meet the needs of students with special needs.
  • Provide aural rehabilitation therapy and hearing screenings in conjunction with the Baltimore City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
  • Consult with students, staff, parents, and the community to develop therapeutic instructional goals and strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal regulations and policies related to audiology and special education.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Audiology from an accredited institution.
  • Current license in Audiology or eligibility for licensure from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Thorough knowledge of child development, individual and group therapeutic interventions, and federal laws and regulations related to school systems.
  • Excellent skills in audiological assessment, oral and written communication, and human relations.
  • Ability to work well with students, parents, and staff, and to use technical computer applications.
