We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Healthcare Services Group. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform janitorial and cleaning activities within established guidelines, assigned areas, and shift(s) to ensure quality standards, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met.
- Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions.
- Report equipment/cleaning product needs and/or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, floors, and commodes.
- Empty wastebaskets and pencil sharpeners; remove graffiti in the interior or exterior of the building when necessary.
- Clean shower rooms and water fountains; disinfect floors, walls, and toilet bowls; polish fixtures and mirrors; replenish lavatory supplies such as tissues, towels, and soap.
- Interact appropriately with facility personnel, supervisor, and the public.
- Respond to customer preferences, comply with industry, federal, and state guidelines.
- Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure a sanitary environment is maintained at all times.
- Follow proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing procedures/techniques.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous school custodial/janitorial experience is preferred.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to cooperate with co-workers and facility staff.
- Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
- Ability to be at work as scheduled on time.
- Ability to be on your feet, mostly walking, 6-8 hours per day.
- Ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work around food and cleaning products.
- Ability to fully understand and complete all in-services.
- Ability to live in the service area.
